Mission Statement

We are an informal community-led group that advocates for transparency, truth, and honesty in governance. The site was created to provide Somerset and Pulaski Countians a space to address issues, ask questions, and share information without fear of retribution. The Somerset-Pulaski Advocate is not a political entity and does not endorse any political candidate or push political agendas. We believe the community should have access to information in order to make good choices.

The purpose of this space is to share information about issues raised by our members regarding Somerset-Pulaski County, Kentucky, the Lake Cumberland region, and our nation for public education, information and commentary purposes. Our goal is to find and share the facts and opinions behind questions and issues brought to us through community sources. We encourage our members to form their own opinions and take an active role in searching for information for themselves or to share with the group.

Contributor Privacy & Safety

Our editors, researchers, contributors, and sponsors support this project while also maintaining careers and family responsibilities within the community.

For privacy and safety reasons, some contributors choose to publish anonymously or use limited public identification. This practice is intentional and is consistent with long-standing norms in civic journalism, community reporting, and research.

All anonymous contributions are subject to the same editorial standards, review processes, and accountability requirements as fully attributed work.

We do not require volunteers to publicly disclose personal identifying information, and we do not publish private details about our team members.

Under Kentucky law, intentionally publishing someone’s personal identifying information with the intent to intimidate, threaten, harass, or frighten them is unlawful. Attempts to identify, expose, or target individual volunteers or contributors in a manner that violates state anti-doxing or harassment statutes are inconsistent with the purpose of this site and will be reported through proper channels.

Our focus remains on issues, policies, and facts — not personalities
