(C) 2025 LUKE OUSLEY, CLASS OF 2029 PULASKI CO. HIGH SCHOOL
Somerset, Kentucky (SPA)-- At just 15 years old and entering the Class of 2029, Luke Ousley is already making waves on the junior golf circuit. Representing Pulaski County High School, he’s ranked 4th in the Bluegrass Golf Tour Boys 15‑18 division for his class, tallying 561.00 points, placing just behind only three top competitors in Kentucky. While Ousley has loved golf and baseball since he was 5 years old, he quit baseball in 7th grade to focus on golf, but he works hard and seems to be passionate about it. His brother Zach plays golf at Midway University, and Luke started beating his big brother regularly on the course last year.
In high‑profile tournaments, Luke has posted strong performances: in a Kentucky regional event in the Boys 14‑15 age group, he shot rounds of 80 and 82, for a combined 162, earning a ranked position among the top junior golfers in the state. From early regional rankings in the 160s, Luke is cutting strokes and steadily climbing leaderboard standings. That pattern is a hallmark of players primed for collegiate golf. His position within the Bluegrass Golf Tour ranking confirms he’s not just excelling locally—he’s recognized against the best juniors across Kentucky. Ousley's ability to shoot rounds consistently in the low 80s as a younger teenager reflects both talent and maturity. His ability to perform in tournament play—especially in multi‑round competitions—speaks volumes. Given his ranking and trajectory, Luke is in a position to attract attention from college coaches down the road.
Luke Ousley is already a standout prospect for Pulaski County High School's golf team and a recognized competitor in the Kentucky junior ranks. In Pulaski's first tournament of the season, the Gimmie Golf Classic, the Maroons' “A” team finished second as a team, with Ousley finishing second as an individual. In the Capital City Championship, Pulaski finished third. Ousley again finished in second place for the Maroons with a 66. In the KGCA Invitational, Pulaski finished in fifth place as a team, with Ousley again leading the way with a 74 to finish 21st place as an individual. With top‑10 state tournament finishes, strong point standings, and a methodical approach to improvement, Ousley is shaping up to be a powerful contender for the Class of 2029. As Maroons continue to grow as a program, Luke exemplifies the next wave of talent—disciplined, dedicated, and increasingly in the public eye. Keep an eye on him as he logs more rounds, wins medals, and builds toward a collegiate future.
