Pulaski County Child Seriously Injured by Ride Wheel at Jaycee Fairgrounds; Witnesses Sought

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (SPA) — A child sustained serious injuries after being struck in the head by a detached ride wheel at the Pulaski County Jaycee Fairgrounds, according to emergency medical reports.

The incident occurred on July 25, when the child was reportedly hit by a wheel that came off a ride during operation. Emergency responders from Somerset-Pulaski County EMS transported the injured child to the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center for further treatment. The child’s condition has not been publicly disclosed, but sources confirm that the injuries were significant.

Somerset Law office, of Thompson & Thompson Attorneys at Law, legal representatives for the child’s family, are seeking public help as the investigation continues. They are asking anyone who saw the incident — or who may have captured photos or video of the ride or the detached wheel — to come forward.

The fairgrounds and the ride operator have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
