Pikeville, Kentucky---In just a few short years, Aimee Stone has transformed her passion for fitness into a thriving career as both a competitive bodybuilder and a respected personal trainer in Kentucky. Her story is one of discipline, resilience, and a deep desire to empower others—particularly women—to discover their strength inside and out.
Aimee’s fitness journey began in 2020, when a trainer introduced her to bodybuilding. What started as curiosity quickly grew into an unwavering passion. By 2022, she transitioned from fitness enthusiast to competitive athlete, and in August 2024 she achieved a milestone many athletes only dream of: winning the Kentucky Open in her hometown of Somerset.
But Aimee’s path has never been just about personal achievements. With a nursing background that gave her insight into the body’s complexities, she realized her calling extended far beyond the stage. “I’ve always had a deep desire to help people feel better, stronger, and more confident in themselves,” she explains. This philosophy now drives her role at East KY Barbell, where she serves as a personal trainer and nutrition coach.

A Philosophy of Empowerment
What sets Aimee apart is her training philosophy: sustainability, strength, and confidence. She meets clients where they are, tailoring each program through assessments of goals, health history, and fitness level. Whether guiding someone through fat loss, strength building, or overall wellness, she emphasizes balance and education. Her approach to nutrition is equally grounded in practicality—teaching clients how to fuel their bodies effectively while still enjoying flexibility.
“I believe training should challenge you, but it should also empower you,” Aimee says. “You should walk away not only stronger physically, but also more confident in what your body can do.”

Breaking Barriers for Women in Fitness
Though Aimee works with men and women alike, much of her impact has been in empowering women to overcome intimidation in the gym. She addresses misconceptions such as the fear of “getting bulky” and helps clients build confidence through strength training. One of her most meaningful success stories involved a woman battling postpartum depression who lost more than 40 pounds, rebuilt her confidence, and rediscovered joy in daily life—all while sustaining a healthy lifestyle.
“Strength builds both confidence and independence,” Aimee emphasizes. “My role is to help women realize that.”
Balancing Strength and Mindset
For Aimee, fitness is not just about physical transformation—it’s about cultivating resilience. She encourages clients to focus on small wins and consistency, reminding them that mental strength drives lasting change. Her own journey in bodybuilding has taught her that the hardest battles aren’t fought in the gym, but in the quiet moments of discipline, sacrifice, and determination.
Looking Ahead
Aimee continues to set ambitious goals. While she plans to return to the competitive stage in 2026 in the women’s physique category, her present focus is on her clients, her continued education, and expanding her positive impact in the Kentucky fitness community. She also leads her own coaching group, “TEAM AIMEE,” fostering an environment of encouragement and growth.
Her ultimate legacy? To be remembered as someone who empowered others to believe in themselves and embrace strength—in every sense of the word.
