Somerset, Kentucky (SPA)---The air in Pulaski County is buzzing with a little extra school spirit this week, and for good reason. Our local cheerleading programs didn’t just show up to the National Championships—they conquered the floor. From high-flying stunts to precision gameday routines, the athletes of Pulaski County and Somerset Independent Schools have proven that this region is a powerhouse of athleticism and heart.
It is an incredible honor to celebrate these teams. Behind every trophy is a season of early morning practices, bruised knees, and relentless dedication. Let’s take a look at the "Wall of Fame" from this year’s National performances!

Somerset Independent: The Briar Jumpers Shine Bright
The Somerset Independent School cheerleaders brought their A-game to the national stage, showcasing why they are perennial contenders.

Somerset High School (WSCC Medium Varsity): 1st Place National Champions! The Briar Jumpers proved they are the gold standard, taking home the top spot in a fiercely competitive division.

Meece Middle School (Small JH Finals): 2nd Place. An incredible podium finish that highlights the bright future of this program.

Meece Middle School (Small JH GameDay): 5th Place. Showing incredible versatility and school spirit on the big stage.

Somerset High School (Field House - Medium DII): 8th Place. A strong Top-10 finish against the best in the country.
Pulaski County High Schools: Leading the Pack
Our local high schools turned heads with high-energy performances that left no doubt about the talent level in our county.

Pulaski County High School (Small DII): 1st Place National Champions! A massive congratulations to the Maroons for bringing home the title. Their precision and power were unmatched.

Southwestern High School: 6th in the Nation! The Warriors held their own against a massive field, securing a prestigious spot among the top six teams in the entire country.

The Middle School Powerhouses
Our middle schoolers might be young, but they are mighty. The depth of talent in our junior high programs is truly staggering.
- Southern Middle School (Small JH): 1st Place National Champions! A flawless performance earned them the top trophy.
- Southern Middle School (Small JH GameDay): 3rd Place. A double-podium weekend for Southern, proving they are masters of every aspect of cheer.
- Northern Middle School (Large JH Finals): 2nd Place. A stunning runner-up finish that showcased incredible teamwork and scale.
The Future Stars
- Southern Rec (Traditional Rec - 10Y): 1st Place National Champions! The youngest athletes on our list showed that the future of Pulaski cheer is in very capable hands.
A Community United in Pride
Whether they wore purple, maroon, or blue, these athletes represented our community with class and unmatched energy. To the coaches who spend countless hours choreographing, the parents who travel across state lines to cheer from the stands, and—most importantly—the athletes who left it all on the mat: We are so proud of you!
Please join us in showering these National Champions and top-tier finalists with the praise they deserve. They’ve put our schools on the map and brought home the hardware to prove it.
