Do not compare your assignment that the Lord has gave you to somebody else’s. Comparison is a tactic that the enemy loves to use to hinder our work for the Lord. Every assignment, small or large is impactful and important to the kingdom of God. You don’t need a big platform, you don’t need money, and you don’t need anything other than to be led by the spirit to fulfill all the assignments, both small and large, that the Lord gives you to do.
The assignments are not about you. They are about Jesus and pointing people to him! The assignments are for others, and the assignments are to help set those captives free. Those assignments are to glorify God, those assignments are to show God’s love, and those assignments are to increase the kingdom impact that is in your hands. However, it comes down to your obedience and willingness to do both small and large assignments and everything in between.
As you step into everything that the Lord is calling you to do, both little and large, remember these words that I heard one day many years ago. “It’s not about you. It’s about me through you. ” Me in the sentence as in Jesus! It’s not about YOU, it’s about Jesus through you!
♥️Your assignment may be a place.
♥️Your assignment may be a person.
♥️Your assignment may be a church.
♥️Your assignment may be public.
♥️Your assignment may be private.
♥️Your assignment may be your workplace.
♥️Your assignment may be a group of people.
♥️Your assignment may be your family.
♥️Your assignment may be to simply love.
♥️Your assignment may be to feed people.
♥️Your assignment may be to spend time with a lonely person.
♥️Your assignment may be to serve someone that’s been overlooked.
♥️Your assignment may be praying for others everywhere you go.
♥️Your assignment may be to step out of the boat and into faith, into a calling that has many assignments waiting.
Assignments change as we go and grow! Sometimes we will do the same thing with consistency over and over. Whatever the assignment may be, the Lord has chosen you for it and for a reason, even if you don’t understand. You were made for such a time as this. Just as Esther 4:14 states, don't remain silent. The Jews were her assignment, and the Lord has plans for people he has set to come across your path. Walk boldly in faith and trust that the Lord has everything already planned out. He’s already made the way, and he’s anointed you to walk in the way that he has made.
- Where is the Lord calling you that you need to trust in him?
- Where have you seen an impact due to the Lord working through you?
- Take time to reflect and to give honor and praise to the Lord. Remember, it's Him through you.
Heavenly Father,
Forgive me for my lack of obeying you at times. I know you love me either way, but I love you so much that I want to serve you to my fullest and others. Please help me with the boldness to go out and fulfill the assignments that you give me. I know that you are with me always through your spirit. I want to reflect Jesus out into this world daily, and I pray for those who I've already impacted directly and indirectly. I pray they see Jesus in me, and it points them closer to you, Jesus.
In your name, Jesus, I pray.
Amen.
